In June, the country's pig iron, crude steel and steel output were 77.64 million tons, 91.58 million tons and 115.85 million tons, respectively, up 4.1 percent, 4.5 percent and 7.5 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, steel consumption continues to grow. 

From January to June, China's apparent consumption of crude steel was 480.66 million tons, up 3.8 percent year-on-year. The apparent consumption of crude steel in China reached 90.31 million tons in June, up 8.6 percent year-on-year. From the downstream steel industry, compared with the first quarter, the second quarter real estate construction area, car production, ship production increased 145.8% , 87.1% , 55.9% , strong support for the growth of steel production.

The figures showed that from January to June, Ferrous's operating income of 3186.04 billion yuan, down 3.8 percent year on year, and its total profit of 84.08 billion yuan, down 40.3 percent year on year. 

At the same time, iron ore imports increased in volume and price. From January to June, iron ore imports totaled 546.91 million tons, up 9.6 percent year-on-year, while the average import price was US $90.2 tons, up 0.9 percent year-on-year and up 1.8 percent from the first quarter. Of this total, 101.68 million tonnes of iron ore were imported in June, up 16.8 percent month on month and 35.3 percent year on year. "iron ore prices are still at a high level, which has put great pressure on the industry to improve efficiency, " he said. "overall, the continuous improvement in national economic indicators has provided a better-than-expected external environment for the production and operation of the steel industry. " Steel demand recovered more than expected, the supply of steel products strong, the entire industry has withstood the test of the epidemic.
