The grim export situation of aluminum products

With the stable, sustained and rapid development of China's national economy and high technology, China's aluminum smelting and aluminum profile processing industry has developed rapidly. Aluminum profiles are common materials in daily life and are widely used. According to the application, they can be classified into architectural aluminum profiles, general industrial aluminum profiles, rail vehicle structural aluminum profiles, and aluminum profiles.

In 2018, in the face of severe export situation, China's aluminum exporters actively adjusted their ideas, dispersed exporting countries, increased their export share to key exporting countries such as South Korea and India, and maintained a large increase in China's aluminum exports. In 2019, China's aluminum export situation is even more severe.

Recently, the Ministry of Commerce of Vietnam issued a protocol to impose a temporary anti-dumping duty on some aluminum profiles imported from China.The provisional anti-dumping duty shall take effect 7 days after the issuance of the Protocol and shall be valid for 120 days.During this period, the Vietnamese investigation agency will continue to conduct anti-dumping investigations and hold hearings in order to make a final decision.

The investigation found that Chinese aluminum products were dumped into the Vietnamese market, causing serious losses to the local aluminum industry. Many aluminum producers in Vietnam have been forced to stop production and a large amount of labor has been lost. 

At the same time, the US Department of Commerce also announced an anti-dumping preliminary ruling on aluminum wire and cable imported from China: preliminary ruling mandatory responding companies. The US Department of Commerce is expected to finalize the case on October 9, 2019.
